Our Club
The Gold Country Manchester Terrier Club is a small club whose region spans Gold Country and the Bay Area of Northern California with 30 members and growing. Our Membership includes fanciers who participate in conformation shows, rally, lure coursing, barn hunts, obedience and agility and more. Following is a summary of our Constitution and if you are interested in becoming a member please review our membership application.
Our Constitution (subject to change):
The objectives of the club shall be:
(a) to encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Manchester Terriers and do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection;
(b) to urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Manchester Terriers shall be judged;
(c) to do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trials, agility trials and any other event for which the club is eligible under the Rules and Regulations of The American Kennel Club;
(d) to conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows, obedience trials, tracking tests, agility trials and any other event for which the club is eligible under the Rules and Regulations of the American Kennel Club;
(e) to promote cooperation and good sportsmanship among its members in the training and exhibiting of dogs
and
(f) to promote good relations and support the national club, the American Manchester Terrier club.
